Position Summary:
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to diagnostic imaging; specifically Nuclear Medicine [NM], PET and SPECT/CT Examinations. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks requiring a certain degree of creativity and latitude. Produces NM, PET and SPECT/CT images of the appropriate anatomy according to departmental policies and procedures. 
 
Essential Job Functions:

<li>Meets and introduces themselves to patient prior to exam. </li>
<li>Performs NM &amp; PET/CT examinations following EIC Radiologist’s set Protocols</li>
<li>Full understanding and operation of all Nuclear Medicine equipment, including PET/CT, E-Cam, Nuctrac. </li>
<li>Evaluates and maintains a quality control program in conjunction with the Radiation Physicist. </li>
<li>Follows guidelines for procurement and preparation of radiopharmaceuticals to include dose calculation, identification, documentation, administration, disposal, storage and safe handling.</li>
<li>Establishes and properly maintains venous access routes.</li>
<li>Recognizes pathology and takes responsibility to perform additional images for study enhancement</li>
<li>Verifies physician order and obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns. </li>
<li>Manages biohazard, chemical and radioactive waste in accordance with applicable regulations.</li>
<li>Performs appropriate radioactive contamination monitoring and any necessary decontamination procedures.</li>
<li>Distributes and maintains film badges along with instructing personnel about radiation safety.</li>
<li>Maintains constant communication with guest throughout study.</li>
<li>Maintains all clinical equipment, including daily QC, and ability to troubleshoot all NM &amp; PET/CT equipment. Notifies service as needed, maintains service logs and reports any and all performance issues to Clinical Supervisor.</li>
<li>Responsible to observe all IV Contrast injections and respond appropriately.</li>
<li>Verifies that appropriate clinical information is included with scan interpretation.</li>
<li>Verifies contrast is appropriately loaded into injector prior to injection of contrast. </li>
<li>Operation of PACs System and printers.</li>
<li>Coordinates patient’s scheduled exam and appropriate medical necessity with Guest Scheduling Representative(s).</li>
<li>Follows radiation safety guidelines and utilizes lead shielding as required following ALARA.</li>
<li>Consults Radiologist with any and all acute positive findings and communicates exam results with referring physician(s) as requested.</li>
<li>Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.</li>
<li>Responsible for accurate coding and completing of all ordered procedures.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as required.</li>
<li>Ability to manage high patient volumes.</li>

 Job Title Occupational Therapist- Home Health Position OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST Job Description Summary Gives Report To: Clinical Supervisor The occupational therapist contracted through the Organization is responsible for the implementation of standards of care for occupational therapy services and for adherence to all conditions outlined in the Service Agreement. Roles &amp; Responsibilities 
<ul>
<li>Evaluates patients functional status (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self care ability, work capacity, etc.). Evaluates home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living. Identifies equipment needs. Participates in the development of the total plan of care</li>
<li>For patients who plan to return to work, the occupational therapist may perform work capacity evaluation and may refer to specialized vocational training in accordance with Organization policy</li>
<li>Develops treatment program and establishes goals for improved function. Communicates plan of care to referring physician and other Organization professionals</li>
<li>May teach new skills or retrain patient in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury, in accordance with Organization policy</li>
<li>May fabricate splints and instruct patient in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function</li>
<li>May train patient in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices</li>
<li>Maintains appropriate clinical records, clinical notes, and reports to the physician any changes in the patients condition. Submits these records in accordance with Organization policy</li>
<li>Maintains contact/communication with other personnel involved in the patients care to promote coordinated, efficient care</li>
<li>Supervises certified occupational therapy assistants according to organization policy and state regulations</li>
<li>When therapy is the only skilled service, instructs, supervises and evaluates home health aide care every two (2) weeks</li>
<li>Maintains confidentiality of patient and organization information</li>

Qualifications 
<ul>
<li>Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association</li>
<li>Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association</li>
<li>Licensed as an occupational therapist by the California Board of Occupational Therapy</li>
<li>Two years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist</li>
<li>Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills</li>
<li>Possess and maintains current CPR Certification</li>
<li>Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization requirements</li>
