Position Summary
The Assistant/Teacher is responsible for the supervision, care and nurturing of children in the program. The Assistant/Teacher is responsible for helping the children with their homework and for the preparation and involvement of activities.
Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>In cooperation with the Officers/Coordinator, develop overall objectives for classroom activities in light of the developmental needs of the children, including planning, supervising and implementing activities for the children, in person and virtually.</li>

<li>Assist, plan and or lead child gradations, musicals, parties and other events.</li>
<li>Attend all staff meetings and in-house trainings or conferences designed to enhance professional growth and development as directed.</li>
<li>Assist the coordinator in the training of volunteers, aides and helpers.</li>
<li>Attend Open Houses, parent’s conferences, and other special events. Promote the active involvement of parents with their children during program hours.</li>
<li>Be responsible for the rooms the program will use, including arrangements appearance, neatness and including necessary housekeeping duties.</li>

Working Conditions

WORKING CONDITIONS
In the capacity of instructional lecturing duties, position requires standing, sitting, talking, walking, reaching, twisting, and turning. The hands-on technical demonstration also requires bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination when using small hand tools. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading reports and work related documents and using related office equipment, computer and other media tools. SUMMARY
EPIC de Cesar Chavez is a WASC accredited charter high school program of Farmworker Institute of Education and Leadership Development (FIELD). FIELD is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1978 by Farmworker Leader Cesar E. Chavez. We are dedicated to strengthening Americas agricultural and rural communities through our Core Values of Opportunity, Excellence, Integrity, Innovation, and Si Se Puede. FIELD carries out its mission through a continuum of educational programs such as our EPIC de Cesar Chavez High School. The EPIC de Cesar Chavez High School Teacher must possess preparation in teaching a culturally diverse population using language acquisition strategies utilizing synchronous and asynchronous instruction. The Teacher must have the knowledge and ability to teach core content area classes either in an online environment or in a self-contained classroom using direct instruction.
