About the Role:
The IT Regional Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and support of information technology systems across multiple healthcare facilities within a designated region. This position is responsible for providing timely technical assistance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and maintaining IT infrastructure to support healthcare delivery and administrative functions. The specialist collaborates closely with clinical and administrative staff to understand their technology needs and implements solutions that enhance operational efficiency and patient care. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with central IT teams to deploy updates, manage security protocols, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Ultimately, the IT Regional Support Specialist ensures that all regional IT systems are reliable, secure, and optimized to support the mission of the healthcare organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to healthcare staff across multiple facilities within the region.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment including computers, printers, and medical devices.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to tailor IT solutions that meet specific healthcare operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data security standards and assist in implementing cybersecurity measures.
- Coordinate with central IT departments to deploy system updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Document support activities, maintain inventory of IT assets, and generate reports on system performance.
- Train end-users on new technologies and best practices to maximize effective use of IT resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in IT support, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, networking fundamentals, and common healthcare software applications.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a multi-site environment.
- Familiarity with healthcare data privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
- Experience supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical devices.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices specific to healthcare environments.
- Strong communication skills with experience in end-user training and support.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
