Role Summary
Seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join their dedicated care team. In this rewarding role, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide restorative and rehabilitative therapy services designed to maximize patient independence, safety, and quality of life. By collaborating with the care team, you will play an integral role in helping patients improve their ability to perform daily activities while making a meaningful difference in their lives.
Setting: Out Patient Clinic
Population: Geriatric population
Duties
-
Administer patient treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist.

Assist with obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing.

Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to implement activities and therapy programs tailored to individual patient care plans.

Manage scheduling of patient treatments, clinical visits, and related billing.

Track, maintain, and ensure the proper use of therapy equipment.

Deliver and document occupational therapy interventions, including use of devices, therapeutic techniques, and activities to promote muscle re-education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, endurance, and overall independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).

Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.

Valid California Occupational Therapy Assistant License (or proof of eligibility).

If degree was earned outside the U.S., it must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.

Reliable means of transportation.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a COTA in a clinical setting, preferably with a frail or elderly population.

Knowledge and skills necessary to effectively treat patients with complex needs.
