Position Title: Golf Shop Manager
Location: Indio, CA at Rancho Casa Blanca
Reporting To: General Manager
Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time Seasonal
Salary: $20.24/Hourly

EMPLOYEE OWNER POSITION PURPOSE:
The Golf Shop Manager is responsible for the administration and management of the Golf Shop and assisting in the overall business operations of the golf course and ensures a quality experience for members and guests. Key areas of focus include, supervision of the Golf Shop Assistants, promotion of golf activities, serving as a source for course rules, and troubleshooting as necessary. Work is performed under general direction of the General Manager. This role is best suited to individuals who are knowledgeable about and enjoy the game of golf.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Direct the operation of the Golf Shop which includes providing weekly reports and deposits, issuing season and monthly passes, reconciling cash tills and golf luncheon payments, and confirming and logging handicap passes
• Provide leadership to the Golf Shop Department, oversee, train, and mentor Golf Shop staff; review payroll, establish schedules and assess performance
• Coordinate tournaments and special events, including the promotion of golf activities, and managing club function tournaments
• Perform starter duties, such as checking in players, calling tee times, accepting payments, etc.
• Order supplies and stock inventory, including merchandise; also assist in managing these costs to the department’s budget
• Maintain vendor relations
• Deliver helpful, friendly, and consistent customer service
• Support members and guests by interpreting golf policies, rules, and regulations
• Attend all required meetings
• Other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Experience or on-the-job training in golf course operations and rules; at least (2) years is highly preferred
• Conflict resolution skills and a high degree of diplomacy/tact
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Must be a team player who is committed to delivering high-level customer service
• Adaptable and dependable with a solid attendance record
• Professional and respectful demeanor with all staff and guests at all times
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record in compliance with Company policy
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Use standard office equipment, including: computer, phone, copier/scanner, etc.
• Use standard maintenance equipment, including: vehicles, power equipment, hand tools, etc.
• Be stationary or in motion for periods of time
• Relocate up to (25) pounds

SCHEDULE & TRAVEL:
• Schedule varies and includes weekends and holidays
• This position may require occasional long hours to meet business needs
