Position Summary:
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to diagnostic imaging; specifically Sonography [US]. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks requiring a certain degree of creativity and latitude. Produces sonographic images of the appropriate anatomy according to departmental policies and procedures.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- In depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology and cross sectional anatomy.
- Knowledge of the following:
- Performing all basic and complex US examinations.
- Principles and techniques of US scanning including proper probe selection and operation.
- Advanced computer operations (including keyboard input and proper selection of protocols to scan various anatomical sections.)
- Responsible to keep license current and provide copy on annual basis.
- Customer Service Oriented
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Provide for patient care; comfort, safety and patient confidentiality.
- Good Interpersonal skills
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good problem solving skills.
Requirements:
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education & Training
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Completion of a Sonographer Program
Experience - US Technologist (1 year)
License / Certification
- Registry Eligible
- ARDMS Certified in Abdomen and/or OB
- Ability to obtain RVT within 18 months.
- CPR Certification
