Job Title: Phlebotomist
Job Description
Exhibit proficiency in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, including pediatric blood collections and difficult draws in medical office buildings. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, and effectively communicate its importance to other employees. Provide orientation and training for patient service technicians. All interactions with minors will be supervised by a supervisor or RN.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques.
- Conduct pediatric blood collections and handle difficult draws.
- Maintain compliance and safety standards and communicate their importance.
- Provide orientation and training for patient service technicians.
- Ensure all interactions with minors are supervised by a supervisor or RN.
Essential Skills
- Phlebotomy expertise, including venipuncture and capillary techniques.
- Experience with neonatal and pediatric blood collections.
- Proficiency in specimen processing.
- Experience with lab systems, specifically Cerner.
- Customer service skills.
- CPT I License.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Computer literacy and experience with lab systems.
Work Environment
Work in outpatient clinics located in Coachella Valley, covering Palm Desert, Palm Springs, and Indio. The role involves floating between multiple locations, including Palm Desert, Palm Springs, and Indio, CA. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palm Desert, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
