Armtec Defense Technologies (Armtec) is an operating unit of the Transdigm Group (NYSE: TDG), an industry leader in aerospace and defense products and services. Armtec is comprised of three business units producing subcomponents for ordnance in Coachella, CA; decoy countermeasure flares in Camden AR; and radar countermeasure chaff in Lillington NC. Job Summary
An engineering project scheduler creates and manages detailed project timelines to ensure engineering projects stay on track. They coordinate with teams, monitor progress, and identify scheduling risks to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Their expertise in scheduling tools and communication supports efficient project execution.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project schedules outlining tasks, dependencies, durations, and milestones using MS Project
  • Align schedules with project scope, objectives, and resource availability.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to gather task requirements and deadlines.
  • Facilitate discussions to ensure accurate representation of project activities.
  • Track progress, identify delays, and adjust timelines to reflect changes in scope or resources.
  • Maintain real-time accuracy of schedules through regular status updates.
  • Coordinate with resource managers to assign personnel, equipment, and materials effectively.
  • Optimize resource utilization to meet deadlines without overburdening teams.
  • Identify potential scheduling risks such as delays or resource shortages and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical path disruptions.
  • Provide stakeholders with regular updates on schedule status, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare performance reports highlighting milestones achieved and forecasted completion dates.
  • Ensure schedules comply with industry standards and organizational workflows.
  • Conduct audits to verify alignment between planned activities and actual progress.
  • Maintain records of schedule changes, approvals, and communications.
  • Develop process documents to standardize scheduling practices.
  • Perform critical path analysis to evaluate task dependencies and prioritize high-impact activities.
  • Master scheduling software and integrate data from ERP or CRM systems.
  • Ensure schedules adhere to regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Mentor team members on scheduling best practices and software use.
  • Apply detail-oriented and analytical skills to manage complex project timelines.
  • Communicate effectively to resolve conflicts and align stakeholders on scheduling priorities.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged with complex situations and multiple sometimes competing priorities.
  • Understand and live by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Candidates with an associates degree will be considered with significant job experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Person
  • Due to special regulatory requirements for defense ammunition manufacturing, successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and undergo initial and periodic substance abuse testing (urinalysis).
  • 5 years of experience is required, with experience in defense or aerospace industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Project.
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively.
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills, and computer skills.
  • Good financial aptitude.

Work Hours & Travel

  • 4X10 work week with occasional overtime on Fridays or weekends as necessary, to meet program objectives.

Salary Range: $61,600 - $106,848/Annual
