  • 1 open position
  • Work Schedule: Days are Monday-Friday, but the hours will vary from 730-4, 8-430 or 930-6 depending on the coverage needed
  • Start date: 12/01
  • Contract length: 13 weeks


Note: MUST be legally authorized to work in the United States.


JOB OBJECTIVES:

  • Produces quality screening and diagnostic mammography films and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) exams; educates patients regarding patient exams and accurately documents procedures completed and procedure codes


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations
  • Interacts compassionately and effectively with patients providing a Five Star experience by reducing anxieties; provides explanations of procedures and equipment, and answers questions
  • Escorts patient from sub-wait area to procedure room
  • Explains procedure to patient prior to beginning exam
  • Obtains appropriate medical history required (patient and family) before procedure is started
  • Explains comparative film review and obtains patient film release signature, as appropriate
  • Performs appropriate screening and diagnostic mammography exams
  • Completes all required billing and documentation accurately and timely in EHR and PACS
  • Performs bone density screening as assigned
  • Maintains cleanliness of all radiology equipment and rooms
  • Maintains job knowledge per the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and state regulatory requirements
  • Follows department timekeeping procedures
  • Works at main campus and satellite facilities


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Required: Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved School of Radiologic Technology

Licensure/Certification:

  • Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Radiology (R); California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license Radiography and Mammography; American Heart Association BLS

Experience:

  • Preferred: Mammography screening experience

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected situations
  • Ability to communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff to ensure clear and accurate exchange of information
  • Proficient in the use of mammography and DEXA equipment
