About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our team in Palm Desert, CA. As a value-added reseller (VAR) and IT consulting firm, we provide comprehensive IT solutions to our clients. This full-time position will focus on managing and maintaining our clients' IT infrastructures, with an emphasis on monitoring, security, and systems administration. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in systems administration, with expertise in Windows environments, virtualization (VMWare), backup solutions, patching, and basic proficiency in networking. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems while collaborating with clients and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and virtualization environments (e.g., VMWare), infrastructure monitoring platforms (e.g., LogicMonitor, Splunk, SolarWinds).
  • Onboard new clients into monitoring and management software.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively identifying issues.
  • Configure dashboards, alerts, and reports tailored to client needs.
  • Assist with incident response and remediation activities.
  • Collaborate with the broader technical team to optimize security and system monitoring practices.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies best practices.
  • Identify, and assist with patching, vulnerabilities in servers and network equipment to ensure system security and integrity.
  • Assist with various systems and network administrative tasks to support the IT infrastructure.


Required Qualifications


Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration, with a focus on Windows environments and virtualization (e.g., VMWare).


Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining server infrastructure, including Windows Server.
  • Experience with VMWare vSphere, ESXi, or similar virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with IT monitoring tools (e.g., LogicMonitor) and security operations platforms (e.g., Arctic Wolf).
  • Familiarity with datacenter technologies, including servers, storage arrays, campus networks, and security equipment.
  • Basic scripting and coding skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and other network protocols
  • Familiarity with Linux Operating systems


Soft Skills:

  • Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to various audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


Background Check:

  • Hiring is contingent on passing a financial and criminal background check.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as MCSE, VCP (VMWare Certified Professional), CompTIA Security+, or Network+.
  • Familiarity with MSP environments.
  • Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
