Summary
The Project Engineer II plays a crucial role in supporting the engineering team delivering essential municipal services that enhance urban living and support local government. The Project Engineer will be able engage in three aspects of Municipal Services civil engineering: Development Review and Land Development Project Management, Capital Improvement Planning and Project Management, and Public Infrastructure Design. The role involves working along industry professionals, seasoned engineers, junior engineers, and other technical staff to provide quality and streamlined services to local municipalities. The role may require the Project Engineer II to provide on-site services to clients working from municipalities. Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise in engineering principles, dedication in evaluating municipal developments to uphold the highest standards for community welfare, and a passion for serving the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform reviews of development projects and plans - preliminary and construction stages.
• Under the supervision of senior engineers, assist in the drafting, design and development of engineering projects.
• Performs as-needed staff augmentation roles for clients which may include the preparation of staff reports and recommendations related to engineering projects.
• Performs as-needed field visits to ensure quality standards for design and development projects.
• Collaborate with team members to analyze project requirements and develop effective solutions.
• Conduct testing and validation of engineering designs to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Support troubleshooting efforts by identifying and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
• Document engineering processes and maintain accurate records of project developments.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. 5-7 years of experience in an engineering role required.
• Engineer In Training certification required.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations required.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients required.
• CA Professional Engineer License preferred.
• Experience working with public agencies preferred.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to the business services industry preferred.
• Experience with project management methodologies. Certification in a relevant engineering discipline preferred.

Compensation Range
$86,400.00 - $134,000.00
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the California SB 1162. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
