Commonwealth Medical Services is looking for a skilled and dedicated Substance Abuse Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in California. This position is integral to our commitment to providing exceptional care for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide ongoing management of care for patients impacted by addiction. Your expertise in addiction medicine will be crucial in facilitating evidence-based treatment options, including medication-assisted therapy and counseling support.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough clinical evaluations of patients with substance use disorders.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans, collaborating with patients and their families.
• Administer medication management, including prescribing and monitoring medications for addiction recovery.
• Educate patients on addiction, recovery strategies, and lifestyle modifications to support wellness.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance treatment outcomes and patient support.
• Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Stay current with advancements in addiction treatment and guidelines.

Requirements

• Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in California.
• Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health or Addiction Medicine preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in addiction medicine or psychiatric setting is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of substance use disorders and relevant treatment options.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented healthcare environment.
