Overview: 
The Welcome Center Specialist will support the Berger Foundation Iceplex guest experience, point of sale front desk, and programming activity. This will include cross-collaboration with program leaders for youth hockey, adult hockey, figure skating, and in-venue events to maximize efficiency and customer communication. 
This role will pay an hourly wage of $20 per hour.

Responsibilities:

<li>Establish the Berger Foundation Iceplex as the predominant ice facility in the Coachella Valley through excellent customer service. </li>
<li>Provides efficient, gracious, and professional guest service and look for opportunities to enhance the guest experience. </li>
<li>Front desk responsibilities </li>
<li>checking-in program participants </li>
<li>conduct point of sale transactions concessions, skate rentals, skate sharpening, drop-in activities, and program registration </li>
<li>welcome the public, provide venue information and directions </li>
<li>Professionally and accurately execute policies and procedures </li>
<li>Intake and outtake of skate and equipment rentals for the public </li>
<li>Help with sizing, lacing &amp; cleaning skates upon return </li>
<li>Support birthday party schedules, set-up, and execution </li>
<li>Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and staff </li>
<li>Execute policies and procedures professionally and accurately </li>
<li>Accurately handle register transactions </li>
<li>Process transactions for purchases and rentals </li>
<li>Daily cleaning tasks within the department </li>
<li>Support in-rink concessions pizza, popcorn, snacks, and drinks service &amp; sales </li>
<li>Attend all required training sessions and staff meetings </li>
<li>Maintain a clean and safe facility </li>
<li>Responsible for alerting managers to any unsafe or potentially hazardous ice conditions </li>

Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Recreation facility or other customer service front desk experience </li>
<li>Cash &amp; sales transaction management </li>
<li>League, facility schedule management </li>
<li>Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and communicate with customers </li>
<li>A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first </li>
<li>Excellent communicator </li>

Preferred Experience &amp; Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Experience with youth sports at the recreational and elite level </li>
<li>Understanding of event and on-ice programming </li>
<li>2+ years work experience at an ice facility or other related sports complex </li>
