Purpose of the position
This position is focused on conducting community outreach among unhoused populations. The Community Health Outreach Worker (CHOW) care coordinator will play a crucial role in identifying individuals with active HIV/HCV and STI cases and ensuring they are connected to appropriate care. This includes verifying that patients have received the correct treatment and follow-up care.
Staff selected for this role will contribute to a vital and sustainable street medicine program designed to serve unhoused communities in the Riverside County area. Often, the most vulnerable individuals experiencing homelessness have encountered repeated failures from institutions throughout their lives, leading to a deep mistrust of authorities, institutions, and healthcare providers. This mistrust, while initially a form of self-protection, can become a significant barrier to accessing care and resources that could significantly improve their quality of life.
The street medicine team will work to build trusting relationships with people who are in need of medical services, work to decrease the logistical barriers that block access to health care and provide care directly to the places where unhoused individuals live.
 
Key Responsibilities

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Manicure Instructor to join our faculty. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, designing engaging lesson plans, and providing guidance and support to students as they develop the necessary skills to excel in the field of manicuring.
 
Responsibilities:

<li>Develop and deliver comprehensive and engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and learning objectives.</li>
<li>Provide theoretical and practical instruction in areas such as nail care, nail art, manicure techniques, and salon sanitation.</li>
<li>Demonstrate and model proper techniques, safety practices, and industry standards in manicuring.</li>
<li>Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement, participation, and growth.</li>
<li>Supervise and provide hands-on guidance to students during practical sessions and laboratory work.</li>
<li>Assess student progress through evaluations, examinations, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their development.</li>
<li>Identify and address individual learning needs and support students who may require it.</li>
<li>Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and new techniques in manicuring to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and cutting-edge.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and laboratory environment.</li>
<li>Mentor and inspire students as role models and professional guides in their manicuring journey.</li>
<li>Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to curriculum development, program enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.</li>

Requirements:
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>
<li>Manicurist or cosmetology license in good standing is required.</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a practicing manicurist.</li>
<li>Prior experience in teaching or training, preferably in a manicuring or cosmetology education setting, is highly desirable.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of manicuring principles, practices, and industry trends.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts and techniques to students.</li>
<li>Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for educating and mentoring aspiring manicurists.</li>
<li>Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.</li>
<li>Proficiency in instructional technology and incorporating multimedia resources into teaching.</li>
<li>Commitment to maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment that respects diversity and promotes student success.</li>
<li>Computer skills necessary.</li>

Hours and Availability: Day and Evening Positions, including a partial work-from-home/remote schedule
