Director of Finance

Palm Springs, CA $120k - $140k Direct, Full-Time Onsite Hospitality

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Finance will lead the Finance Department and oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, compliance, and reporting for a private club in Palm Springs. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role that partners closely with the General Manager and department heads to ensure fiscal stability, optimize financial performance, and guide long-term planning.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, cash flow management, and compliance.
  • Supervise finance staff; hire, train, and provide performance evaluations.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Collaborate with leadership on budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies.
  • Oversee tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and approve expenditures for budget adherence.
  • Track inventory and assets, reviewing contracts and leases as needed.
  • Develop and implement systems, processes, and internal controls for efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, ideally in hospitality, entertainment, or tourism industries.
  • Strong accounting background with proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing a finance team.
  • Ability to communicate financial data effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Onsite availability, Monday–Friday, with flexibility for an operational, customer-focused setting.
