Remote Pilot-in-Command (RPIC):

5.3.2.1 Qualifications:

The DRONEPOWER1 UAS RPIC must have, hold, or possess:

a. High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

b. Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required

c. Hold a Valid a Remote Pilot Certificate with the FAA.

d. Successfully complete DRONEPOWER1 Initial and annual recurrent training.

e. Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and a pre-employment/ random drug test.

5.3.2.2 Responsibilities:

a. Operators’ primary duty is the safe and effective operation of the UAS in accordance with the manufacturers' approved flight manual, FAA regulations and company policy and procedures. Operators must remain knowledgeable of all FAA regulations; UAS manufacturer's flight manual and bulletins and company policy and procedures.

b. Be the final and complete authority regarding matters concerning airframe operation, safety, and security of customers’ property and fellow crew members.

c. Maintain a high degree of proficiency and a thorough knowledge of the procedures and systems for the airframe being operated.

d. Determine the airframe is airworthy, in accordance with the procedures outlined in the FOM and the UAS manufacture’s Flight Manual, and the appropriate preflight has been accomplished.

e. Thoroughly familiarize themselves with existing and forecast weather, NOTAMS, Airspace, and other information impacting the flight.

f. Prior to every mission day, ensure an Operational Risk Assessment is completed to determine Go/No-go Decisions.

g. RPICs’ may be temporarily removed from flight status at any time by the UAS coordinator, for reasons including performance, proficiency, physical condition, etc. Should this become necessary, the operator will be notified verbally and in writing of the reason, further action to be taken and expected duration of such removal.

h. Operators interacting with Air Traffic Control (ATC) or Terminal Radar Approach Control Facilities (TRACON) shall have sufficient expertise to perform that task readily. Operators must understand and comply with FAA Regulations applicable to the airspace where the UAS operates.
