The Senior Healthcare Informaticist position supports the Medical Staff and Acute Care Services to enable cost-effective, high quality, efficient and safe patient care. This position will have a thorough understanding of all clinical and operational workflows to provide training and support to all physicians, advanced practice providers and clinicians in the acute care setting. This role works collaboratively with the clinical and business applications analysts, Nursing educators and informatics, pharmacy leadership and informatics, Quality, Surgical Services, Specialty Services, Legal and Compliance, and the Health Information Management teams to support Eisenhower Health's goals in providing ideal patient care in the inpatient setting. This position will support the Information Systems teams when addressing design decisions of moderate to high complexity, implementation of new applications, software upgrades, integrated testing, application maintenance, Epic training and provider support. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership, implementation, analytical, technical and training skills in supporting physicians, advanced practice providers and clinicians.

Qualifications
Education
Required: Associate's degree in relevant clinical field or additional experience in lieu of degree
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in relevant clinical field
Licensure/Certification
Required: Certification required in any Epic Clinical application; Certification in Epic Clinical Informatics - current or obtained within 90 days from hiring date
Experience
Required: Two (2) years in Information Systems or Clinical Informatics in healthcare setting; plus two (2) years of experience in Epic Implementation and Epic Principal Trainer; plus one (1) year of experience in a direct patient care position
Essential Responsibilities
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
Acts as a liaison between assigned departments, clinical end users and I.S. technical personnel.
Serves as lead trainer for Epic Inpatient Orders and personalization sessions for physicians and APPs.
Oversees Epic Principal trainer on content development of EMR educational materials for the medical staff.
Assists acute care directors and managers during the introduction of new technology, successful organizational readiness and implementation/optimization of Epic and other technologies.
Working with professional education, organizes and updates Epic training content to support proficiency in the acute care service areas, applications are utilized for maximum efficiency, and users are informed of new updates and revisions to the EMR workflows.
Provides expertise as a change agent for new innovation. Uses change management strategies throughout the planning and implementation process to ensure success.
Responsible for required internal and external communication to meet daily operations and objectives of the department.
Performs written and oral project status reporting on a regular basis as requested.
Provides technical and workflow assistance to support to expert users in the acute care settings.
Takes initiative to share information regarding healthcare informatics or regulatory requirements with other team members.
Takes advantage of available resources to stay informed of current developments and trends in healthcare informatics, information security and regulatory compliance.
Assures that all necessary documentation (i.e., procedures, processes) is properly completed.
Update all service requests on a monthly basis and communicate updates to the requestor on a monthly basis.
Ensures that email and voice mail indicate unavailability with alternative contact when out of office.
Assume administrative tasks to support management as requested and perform other duties as assigned.
