Requirements / Qualifications

Applications will not be considered without all of the following documentation attached:

(1) Proof of High school graduation (HS diploma/transcripts or GED) AND
(2) Proof of an AA or BA degree (in any area) with 6 units in Early Childhood Education OR Child Development Associate Teacher Permit (12 ECE units)
(3) Completion of the TargetSketch Assessment is required and must be completed before application deadline. Target Sketch is available through your EdJoin account.

Applicants must be able to read, write and speak Spanish.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Possession of an AA or BA degree (in any area) with 6 units in Early Childhood Education OR a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit. Experience working with groups of preschool children in paid or volunteer capacity.

SUMMARY:
The Paraprofessional - Early Childhood under immediate supervision, assists teachers in supervising the classroom and playground activities of children in Early Childhood Education Programs; conveys and receives information; sets up and cleans before and after meals and snacks; maintains a clean and safe classroom environment for the children; and ensures compliance with established regulations.
