Job DescriptionWe are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in the hotel industry, based in Palm Springs, California. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be tasked with managing financial processes, maintaining customer accounts, and ensuring accurate financial records.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the management of the Accounts Receivable (A/R) Ledger within the Opera Property Management System
• Conduct outbound communication with clients to ensure timely payments and resolution of payment-related discrepancies
• Perform reconciliation and verification tasks for airline crew billing accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Collaborate with the controller to meet month-end deadlines and deliver financial reports
• Maintain up-to-date records of payment statuses and communication efforts
• Manage billing adjustments and processes effectively using an ERP system interface
• Accommodate various accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable, auditing, and bank reconciliations
• Utilize accounting software systems to manage and track financial transactions.• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• High proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems.
• Solid knowledge and application of Accounting Functions.
• Familiar with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures.
• Experience in performing Auditing tasks.
• Capable of performing Bank Reconciliations accurately.
• Previous experience in Hotel Management is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
