Position Summary: The Master Data Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the creation, maintenance, and quality of master data across various departments and projects. This role ensures data integrity, consistency, and accuracy, aligning with the organization's goals and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management & Oversight:

    • Oversees and manages assigned project and/or departmental data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements.
    • Serves as the point person for master data-related tasks on an assigned project, coordinating between departments to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
    • Manages the development of program data and ensures that established schedules are met, regularly updating stakeholders on progress.


  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborates with departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.
    • Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff.
    • Works closely with IT teams to implement and maintain data management systems, ensuring data accessibility and security.


  • Data Integrity & Quality Assurance:
    • Monitors and ensures the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of master data across all systems and platforms.
    • Develops and enforces data governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
    • Conducts regular audits of master data to identify and rectify discrepancies, collaborating with relevant teams to resolve issues.


  • Process Improvement:
    • Identifies opportunities for improving data management processes and implements best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Provides training and support to team members on data management best practices, tools, and technologies.
    • Stays updated on the latest trends and advancements in data management, recommending new tools or processes as necessary.


  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepares and presents regular reports on data quality, integrity, and project progress to senior management and other stakeholders.
    • Develops and maintains dashboards and other tools for monitoring and reporting on key data metrics.




Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Management, Quality Management Systems, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, with a solid understanding of production processes and workflows.


  • Proven experience in data management, data governance, or a related role, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • In-depth understanding of data management principles, including data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in managing and maintaining data related to manufacturing operations, including product specifications, bill of materials (BOM), and inventory management, with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Certification in data management or related areas (e.g., CDMP, DAMA).
  • Experience with integrating and managing data within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with specific industry-related data management systems and software.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulatory requirements related to data management.
