The Role...

At Soho House, the General Manager our Le Vallauris Palm Springs restaurant is responsible for all aspects of the business by ensuring operational efficiency, guest experience, staff retention and optimal profit is met including, but not limited to all F&B operations. Le Vallauris General Manager is also an ambassador for the Soho House brand and fully embraces our ethos, support staff and guest experience. As General Manager you are an influential leader and strategic business partner to all departments that tell our story, deliver service, create culture, maximize profits, support operations, and guest satisfaction.

A successful General Manager will collaboratively partner with the Executive Chef, Regional Business Leaders and COO to develop strategic business objectives and goals that result in optimizing the business's performance and profitability.

  • Influential leader and strategic business partner to internal and external stakeholders by assessing business objects and delivering an elevated, approachable and profitable experience that is consistent and regularly assessed for improvement and innovation
  • Responsible for assessing the business on a weekly/daily basis and in providing reports on the economic and operational state of the business that trigger the development of action plans to support operational improvements and focus on optimizing profit, minimizing margins and promoting exceptional experience(s) for guests and staff.
  • Adhere to Soho House & Co company policies for site safety, food safety, allergy procedure and creating an overall safe, clean and inviting space for guests, and following local, government and regional compliance and abiding by legal standards
  • Collaborative partner to all leading Support Office business functions for guidance, optimising brand improvement, and day to day operational support.
  • Focus on building and leading a team that efficiently drives sales and staff retention through F&B/Operations, Marketing, PR, Social, Events & Programming, Housekeeping and Facilities
  • Guide, develop and implement decisions that outline policies, procedure and systems to improve business operations, service, retention and over all experience
  • Oversee complete wage control and management
  • Maintain brand guidelines, and build and reaffirm Soho House values with the team and members.
  • Compliance with all permits and regulations, including conditional use permits

Measure of Success

  • Meet and exceed yearly budgeted property sales
  • Effective wage control in department and third party house affiliates and partners as per budgeted expectations
  • Effective monthly control of food cost as per budgeted expectations
  • Effective monthly beverage cost control as per budgeted expectations
  • Control of overheads and variable monthly spends as per budgeted expectations
  • Turnover rate at or below set yearly expectations
  • Employee survey score of 85% or above
  • Monthly employee recognition program in place and up-to-date
  • 100% compliance and attendance with any Soho House internal, Health and Safety and any other required training
  • Maintain A rating for Health department visit scores
  • Alignment with Purchasing & Procurement guidelines, managing inventory and training the team on the system (Adaco)
  • Works closely with every aspect of the business to identify and drive process improvement opportunities and operational excellence

Experience Required

  • At least 5+ years managing high-volume Food and Beverage (F&B) or multi-unit operations
  • Understand, maintain, and enforce local and government regulated food safety, risk prevention, fire prevention, Labor laws and emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all staff and guests
  • Ability to supervise, train and motivate all levels of employees
  • Interview all new and prospective hires (internal/external) and adhere to policies while positively provide support to the team in terms of growth, development and success planning
  • Monitor, assess, report and develop action items to support service trends, guest/staff surveys
  • Innovator and influencer with previous experience managing F&B operations that focus on service and providing top quality experiences through food and drink.
  • Creative and analytical thinker who encompasses strong business aptitude is driven by results and guest satisfaction. Naturally hospitable

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.

In accordance with California law, the salary range for this role if filled within California is listed below. The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Pay Range

$90,000-$110,000 USD
