**The Sales Representative Role**

As a Wine & Spirits Sales Representative with Gallo Wine Company, you will independently manage a territory of pre-established accounts (aka no cold calling!), build relationships through face-to-face interactions with your customers, as well as promote a vast portfolio of wine and spirits. Ultimately, your responsibility will be to maximize Gallos exposure to the shopper through impactful placements in your accounts. Through extensive sales training and on-the-job experience, you will learn to be a successful, consultative salesperson.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

***Consultative Sales:***

* Call on pre-established grocery and drug chain accounts, like Albertsons, Ralphs, and Walgreens

* Be the master of your own schedule, prioritizing time spent visiting accounts in order to meet and exceed monthly sales goals

* Build and enhance relationships with decision-makers through consistency, reliability, and leveraging fact-based data, with the goal of gaining incremental sales

* Create customized sales presentations to inform and persuade decision-makers on the benefits of doing business with Gallo

***Creative Merchandising:***

* Identify opportunities and locations to cross-merchandise in your accounts outside of the liquor department, displaying Gallo products in an impactful way

* Creatively merchandise Gallo products to stimulate impulse purchases using eye-catching display pieces (wine barrels, etc.)

**Minimum Qualifications**

* High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.

* Bachelors Degree; or 4 years of retail sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or Senior class standing at a college or university and working towards a Bachelors Degree.

* Valid drivers license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California drivers license or appropriate state drivers license within 30 days of hire.

* Car or personal transportation to access multi-store locations within assigned area and transport large point of sale materials.

* Required to lift and move 45-57 pound cases of product.

* Required to be able to physically capable of executing all essential functions to perform the job.

* Required to be at least 21 years of age.

* Required to live with-in or in close proximity of assigned territory.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Bachelors degree plus 2 years of retail sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

* Experience working independently in the field.

* Innovative, entrepreneurial spirit, open to new ideas and challenges.

* Strategic thinker with ability to build rapport easily with customers and colleagues.

* Leadership aptitude or skill. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong listening and presentation skills.

* Well-organized with highly effective time and activity management skills.

* Good problem-solving skills.

* Demonstrated teamwork experience.
